The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa allows employers to address labour shortages by bringing in genuinely skilled workers when suitably skilled Australians are not available. This visa ensures that Australian workers are given priority, while enabling employers to use overseas talent to fill temporary skill gaps.
TSS visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor under one of three streams:
This stream is available if your employer wishes to sponsor you as an overseas skilled worker on a temporary basis in occupations listed on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) for a TSS visa. You can refer to the official list of eligible skilled occupations.
This stream can be used to fill positions for a maximum of the period specified under the TSS visa conditions.
This stream is available if your employer wishes to sponsor you as an overseas skilled worker for up to four years in occupations listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL) for a TSS visa.
This stream is available only if the Australian employer sponsoring you has a labour agreement with the Department of Home Affairs. Labour agreements involve specific requirements and detailed processes.
If your employer wishes to sponsor you under this stream, our Immigration Lawyer can assess your eligibility and guide both you and your potential employer through the necessary requirements and procedures.
Our team of migration agents at Immigration Global Network provides support and guidance at every step of the visa process, from understanding your options and recommending the best pathway to organising, preparing, and lodging your visa application.
